 | Magam Trophy: Polish Trophy returns 1-5 May - actually still 70 competitors.

The Polish "Magam Trophy" (01-05 May 2012) is beginning to build up a history. The event was created in 2001 by Wojciech Golebiowski and a group of enthusiasts gathered around him.
They were not satisfied with driving off-road cars against the clock. They wanted something more. Vehicles constructed specially for this rally climb almost vertical slopes, wade through water and splash around in sticky mud. In such conditions regular driving skills are not enough.
The Magam Trophy quickly became a legend. Organizing the event in the vicinity of Miastko in the Kaszubskie region of Poland was a good idea.
Farmers in this region, as well as the local populace, quickly accepted the 'offroad freaks in their unusual machines´. Every year the Magam attracts fantastic people for whom off-road is not only mud on the windscreen and winches, but a way of life.
The competition runs in 2 classes - "Adventure" and "Extreme". The Adventure-class is easier, for vehicles with electric winches. "Extreme" means the "hardcore-offroaders", created for the advanced constructions equipped with every type of winches.
The most numerous "Extreme Class" gathered 56 teams with few well-known names of participants. There is the team Lukaszewski/Duhanik (winners of the last two editions, Breslau Rally 2011, MT-Rally 2011 etc.), Robert Kufel (Winner Breslau Rally 2010), Artur Owczarek, Zbigniew Peczynski, Pawel Kado and many more who are fighting for the podium. The Adventure class seems very interesting, too.
During 5 days (from 1st to 5th of May 2012) the participants will race at the area near Miastko. Every day both classes (Extreme and Adventure) are starting in the inverted order (from the last numbers on the list to the firsts).
In 2012, more the 10 weeks before the start already 70 teams signed in for the offroad event. Participants are coming from Poland, Latvia, Scandinavia and Germany.
If you want to square off against it and test your strength, take part in the next rally - or learn more on the official website at [ MAGATROPHY.PL ].
