 | Northern Forest 2010: Krzystof Holowczyz excluded from the classification.

Having received a report from the FIA Technical Delegate that at the final scrutineering of the Baja Russia Northern Forest on the 28th of February 2010 the air restrictor of car No.2 (Krzystof Holowczyc) was found to measure 33.6 mm. The maximum permitted air restrictor size is 33 mm without tolerance. This being the case the stewards asked to see the Team Manager and driver of car No.2 to receive their explanation.
The driver stated that he was not aware of any irregularity in the size of the air restrictor and the Team Manager stated that in his opinion the method of measurement was suspect and may have resulted in inaccuracies.
It was agreed that the air restrictor in question would be removed from the car, sealed by the FIA Technical Delegate in the presence of the team representative, and sent to the FIA Technical Department in Geneva for final decision on the measurement.
In the meantime the final overall classification was issued with a note that the result for car No.2 would remain provisional depending on the result of measurements carried out by the FIA.
On the 10th of March 2010 the FIA Technical Department issued a statement that it had measured the air intake restrictor of car No.2 and found that it measured 33.52 mm. As the team and the stewards had previously agreed to be bound by the measurements made by the FIA Technical Department, the Stewards decide to exclude car No.2 (krzystof Holowczyc/Jean-Marc Fortin) from the final classification of the Baja Russia Northern Forest 2010.
