 | Northern Forest: No Russian Winter Rally 2011 - new FIA Worldcup Sytem.

The Baja Russia Northern Forest has been held in the Saint-Petersburg region for 8 times. In 2009 and 2010 this competition was held as a round of the FIA International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas - one of the world's two most prestigious off-road motorsport series. The level of organisation of the Northern Forest Baja was highly praised by the Federation International de l'Automobile (FIA).
For 2011 the FIA decided to combine all official off-road races into a single series - the World Cup for Rally-Raids. At the same time the total amount of competitions will be enough to leave only best events on the calendar. The Baja Russia Northern Forest received an invitation from the FIA to be included in the 2011 season calendar.
However, due to financial reasons the Organisers of the Northern Forest Baja are bound to give up on running the event in 2011. The world's only snow and ice Baja will take a one year long withdrawal.
The Organisers are planning to bring the event back for 2012 when it once again will be a part of the Russian and international calendars. See you on the Baja Russia Northern Forest 2012!
