 | Northern Forest: Short report after SS1 of Saturday - Holowczyc leading.
|
In Gromovo on the SSS in the group of leaders there are the crews having had the experience of rally participation. The debutant of the Baja Krzystof Holowczyc finished the first. The Pole took advantage of his experience - he has won the European Rally Championship and several starts of the World Rally Championship's rounds.
The main favorite and last year winner Boris Gadasin showed the second time. The Russian has got a big experience as in rally-raids and as in rallies - in 2009 he became the winner of Northwestern Federal District in rally. The driver of the G-Force Motorsport Team lost 2.5 seconds to the Pole driver.
Double-winner of the Russian Rally Championship Alexander Zheludov got the 3d result. His gap was 4.2 seconds behind the leader. Yaroslav Solovjev and Alexander Mironenko showed the 4th and the 5th result on the SSS. And again they are the drivers participating as in rally-raids as in rallies.
And a "pure" raid-driver got only the 6th place. Balazs Szalay, whose participation on the Baja Northern Forest is the first one, lost 16.2 seconds to the winner. Having 6 second gap behind the Hungarian driver Pavel Loginov finished with the famous rally co-driver Andrey Rusov. By the way, he is the co-driver with whom Alexander Zheludov won the Russian Rally Championship.
The best participant of Group T2 became Viktor Volikov. His production car Toyota Land Cruiser finished with 27 second gap behind of the SSS winner's Nissan Navarra prototype.
Nuno Matos (three time Italian champion), who had started on snow and ice surface for the first time, got the 9th place in the FIA International Cup and the 2d one in Group T2. He lost only 1.5 seconds. That's good for the debutant!
Roman Briskindinov whose first participation in the Russian Rally-raid Championship closed TOP10. His time is 7 second behind the nearest competitor in Group T1.
We note the 11th time which was shown on the SSS by the driver of the production UAZ Team Binjamin Dzhepaev. He became the first in the Group N. And that was a strong struggle from the very first SS. Sergey Savenko finished with 1.5 seconds gap and experienced Yury Borovikov did it with 0.7 seconds.
Vilcanc Aldis became the first in the Group R having had 12 second advantage of Alexander Sokolov.
