 | Northern Forest: Snow-Presentation in the Desert of South America.
|
Nice ladies from RRL Media Group in snow-white wintercaps and in stylish twinkly t-shirts have coincided the presentation of the unique snow and ice Baja "Russia - Northern Forest" with the finish of the Dakar Rally 2010. The reason for that was quite clear: After the main Event in the world of motoring starts a new year in a sports calendar. Why not to start it in Russia and to try snowfield instead of sands?
The Baja "Russia - Northern Forest" is a good alternative to sands: The unique in the world snow race is held 50 km away from one of the most beautiful cities in the world Saint-Petersburg and 200 km away from the Finnish border - on Karelian Isthmus, so it is not difficult to get there from the center of Europe!
In 2010 the Baja has 3 official statuses: It’s the second round of FIA International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas, the second round of Latvian Championship and the first round of Russian Championship.
The Northern Forest is a quite compact race. The competition will last for 3 days - from 26 till 28 February, including administrative checks and scrutineering. The start and the finish of the race take place in the same Igora ski resort, so there won’t be long exhausting liaisons. Overall distance of the race is 622 km, 431 km fall on special stages and only 191 on liaisons.
