 | OiLibya Rally of Tunisia: Puncture delayed Vigouroux 6 km before finish.

The fourth best time on this first special, Eric Vigouroux was disappointed a little, because of a puncture that delayed the crew only 6 km before the finish line. This race has just started. Traced in an agricultural zone of olives, swarming with small tracks, this first special was rather difficult in navigation, as the crew said at the finish line. "Moreover, certain tracks, broadsides by cactus,very narrow for our Trophy Truck", explained Eric Vigouroux.
"We run all the selective section in company of Lavieille and Novitskiy. Lavieille caught up with us in the cacti, we let him overtake us, and then we rolled a long time in the third position until they made a mistake at a crossroad, and we overtook them, opening the race track. Unfortunately, we had a puncture in the last wadi, because we had deflated too much in sand, and I did not see a large sharp stone."
Having lost approximately four minutes for stopping to change the bursted tire, Eric and Alex finished finally the special one in fourth position, with a total time of 02:29:14 for 180 km of race. "However, the gaps on arrival between the first are small, and the rally starts as a beating drum, that promises to be very exciting for the next days", concluded Eric.
Monday, the competitors will meet upon the departure of the sand dunes for the second s from Douz to Nekrif. The rally will go down very far in the Tunisian South, and from very strong heats are awaited.
