 | OiLibya Rally of Tunisia: Super-Special cancelled, the race will start Sunday.

A radiant warm sun was there to receive the kickoff of the 28th edition of the OiLibya Rally of Tunisia. After the traditional administrative and technical checks, the competitors met at the beach of Gammarth by the end of the afternoon (around 20 kilometers from Tunis) for a small warm up in the sand.
After the scrutineering, the Super Special that composed the menu of the day was cancelled for safety reasons. The race will finally start on Sunday. On five kilometers and in the form of "parade", the many spectators on the race track profited from the spectacle on a road along the sea.
Tomorrow, the race will start. The opening stage between Tunis and Douz will establish a first hierarchy in the three categories. Will Leonid Novitskiy in cars, Marc Coma on his bike or Elisabete Jacinto with her truck, will show their great skills on the 180 km of the selective section?
Second leg of the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies and FIM World Championship for bikes and quads, the OiLibya Rally of Tunisia 2010 was officially launched today in the presence of Mrs Souha Ben Salem, representing the main partner of the race, OiLibya. Among the competitors, the best drivers and riders of the three categories are having a party.
On bikes, powerful riders such as Marc Coma, "Chaleco" Lopez, David Casteu, James West, Helder Rodriguez or the three from Team Orlen, Jacek Czachor, Marek Dabrowski and Jabuk Przysgonski are ready to fight. On quads, Rafal Sonik, Ridha M´Henni, Vincent Albira and Karim Dilou are quite impatient.
On four wheels, the BMW of the Team X-Raid driven by Leonid Novitskiy will have to push away the attacks of both Buggies of the Schlesser´s Team (including Jean-Louis Schlesser himself), the Proto Dessoude of Christian Lavieille, Eric Vigouroux´s Trophy Truck and also the armada of MD Rallye Sport, and not to forget the brave drivers of the Wildcat Trophy.
In Production category, Laurent Rosso, current leader of the World Cup will have solid opponents, in particular the Russian Andrey Ivanov. Finally, trucks talking, Elisabete Jacinto will be on its guards regarding Michel Salvatore, Hubert Molina or Luisa Trucco.
Forty bikes and about fifty will take the start tomorrow morning going South, heading to Douz, After a 241 km liaison, it will be time to start the real emotion... At the end of a 180 km special section, 100% new, relatively fast but rather tricky in navigation, the first classifications will arrive.
