 | OiLibya Tunisia: Zapletal/Ourednicek successful in first desert-rally with BMW.

The most successful Czech cross-country rally crew, former FIA World Champion Miroslav Zapletal and his navigator Tomas Ourednicek, reached the 4th place overall in FIA World Cup after the first desert rally with their new X-raid BMW X3CC.
The 30th "OiLibya Rally of Tunisia" was the first FIA World Championship run, which took place in the African continent. The Czwch crew, which had to prematurely terminate their participation in the previous race in Asian Abu Dhabi because of an engine failure on their Mitsubishi L200 Strakar, changed for X-raid BMW X3CC race car and could pass the race (almost 1600 kilometers) in hot Saharan Desert .
The achievements were the 4th place overall, the 3rd position in T1.2. (diesel) category and 1st place in premiere attendance. Miroslav Zapletal with his navigator Tomas Ourednicek move them up on the 4th interim position in World Championship.
The FIA World Championship for Cross Country Rallys continues with the "Baja Spain" (July), furthermore with the "Hungarian Baja" (August), will be back in Africa again (Pharaons Rally, Egypt / October) and will finish in Portugal (November).
