Optic Tunisia 2007: Ride Kymco ATV on the tracks for 3.800 Euro.

NPO which sets up the Optic 2ooo Tunisia Rally and the Morocco Rally has just completed a deal with Kymco to allow every fans of ATV’s to live the Tunisian experience riding a MXU 500 on the Desert Tracking Tunisia; the brand new event set up in parallel with the Optic 2ooo Tunisia Rally 2007 (March 30th / April 8th).

Organiser Cyril Neveu and Kymco propose you to participate in the Desert Tracking Tunisia for a price of 3800 - thanks to an option including the lending of the brand new Kymco MXU 500 ATV, the assistance for the machine, the trip by boat (round-trip), insurances, accommodation (boat, bivouac, hotel), the half-board catering and the final award ceremony. Your obligations: having a complete off-road equipment (helmet, gloves, boots, trousers, jacket), renting the compulsory safety devices and going to Brignoles (France, 83) to participate in the technical and administrative checks on March 30th as all the participants.

The Desert Tracking Tunisia is a race within the race which is not based on performance but on regularity. The participants of the Desert Tracking will start after the participants of the rally. On the same tracks, they will navigate with road-books and will have to respect the average speeds imposed on each track-sections. They will be equipped with a Tracking System which is a satellite marker constantly indicating the positions and speeds to Race PC. Thanks to this system, the average speeds and general classifications (from the most to the less respectful of the speeds) will be established.

Of course, some people will try to apply themselves to trying to win the race and there will be some who will be in quest of an adventure on an African rally, following their own pace. They will not be necessarily well classified but will take a real pleasure anyway. Indeed, it is an ideal concept for the ATV riders since the Desert Tracking Tunisia does not include any notion of speed. Therefore, the ATV is the ideal vehicle to go through Africa.

On Saturday, March 31st the adventure will begin with a boat-cruise on the Daniele Casanova, a boat of the firm SNCM, which will put in at Propriano, Corsica, on Sunday, April 1st for the first stages of the Rally Optic 2ooo Tunisia and Desert Tracking. Then the participants will take on board again to head towards Tunisia for 7 stages on the Tunisian tracks in the middle of ergs, chotts, djebels, canyons and verdant wadies which will offer a genuine digest of all the African types of ground; everything you need to walk out of the classic paths and to escape enjoying a maximum-safety device which has made the fame of NPO.

Each evening, the participants will find a comfortable bivouac rooted in the middle of fabulous landscapes. The atmosphere there is unique and is an opportunity to mix with stars like Stephane Peterhansel, Jean-Louis Schlesser, Carlos Sainz, Marc Coma, Cyril Despres, David Casteu and other. The adventure will end on April,8th with the traditional award ceremony. It will be time to go back to Marseille by boat. The unloading of the boat is scheduled on Wednesday March, 11th in the end of the morning. NPO will propose the same event on the tracks of the Rally of Morocco from September, 24th to September, 30th.
