Optic Tunisia: Description of the 1st stage in Corsica/France.

| |
| This stage will be the first one in the history of the Optic 2ooo Tunisian Rally to be held on the island of Corsica and the competitors will be more than impressed. At an altitude of almost 1000 metres, the track of the first stage will snake through the heart of the Ospedale forest above the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio, with breathtaking views. The track will be very technical, even backbreaking during a 7 km section reminiscent of some Moroccan tracks.
The end of this special will be downhill towards the finish line in Tagliu Rossu. The competitors will return by Sainte Lucie, a typical corsican village, to join the assistance park at the marina of Porto Vecchio. Then the second and largest of these two Corsican specials starts from Pascialela. The beginning will be very technical before changing to tarmac near the village of Radici.
Quickly, they will be back on dirt and will descend into a huge agricultural valley which will lead them to the finish at the Pont de Curgia. Then they will be back on the road to Propriano where the prize giving ceremony of this first stage will take place in the presence of Corsican officials before reloading the Danielle Casanova to sail to Tunis.
