Optic Tunisia: Description of the 2nd stage Tunis-Douz.

Contrary to what has usually happened in the past years, a Special will be held practically at the disembarkation in Tunis. This 25 km stage will be short but it will be a nice change from the traditional day’s transfer towards the south of the country. After a link of almost 100 km, whose end will be punctuated with archaeological remains dating back to the Roman period, notably a remarkable aqueduct. At the beginning of the special, the track will be an ancient roman road before entering into a pinewood forest and winding along the crests of a small range of hills. This special should not present too many problems except for some ruts and holes requiring the concentration of the competitors. A link of almost 400 km will lead them to Douz where they will spend their first night at a hotel. A good way to smoothly begin, the Optic 2ooo Tunisia Rally 2007.
