Optic Tunisia: Description of the 4th stage El Borma - El Borma.

| |
|
 | | | As it has been for the last two years, this stage of El Borma which has written the most beautiful pages of the Optic 2ooo Tunisia Rally will be composed of two loops: the first one is 230 km long and the second 30 km, 100% off-road and 100% sand. But the route in this mythical erg will be in an unusual direction. This means that vigilance will be required all along the stage while clearing dunes more broken than ever. Navigation will also be important, because of the new regulations and particularly because of the WPM (masked way point) which appears on the GPS within a radius of 3 km from its point. Therefore avoiding the difficult dunes could be dangerous, as you could miss the way point altogether; especially if you’re not on the the exact heading. Those who have suffered too many difficulties in the first loop will be able to drop out of the second loop of the stage, conceding a penalty. The Joker. Losing a place, is always better than finishing one’s rally in the middle of the desert. As usual on this type of ground, tyre pressures will have to be closely watched.
