Optic Tunisia: Third place in Tunisia for the French Trophy-Truck.

Third stage of this Optic 2000 Tunisian Rally, the second here in Tunisia, was well suited to the Chevrolet Trophy Truck of Eric Vigouroux and Alexandre Winocq. The Pro System Racing team recorded the third best time, even with a few technical hitches. In the overall placings, the Trophy Truck lies in third place behind Jean-Louis Schlesser´s Buggy and the Proto Nissan of Christian Lavieille.

From El Borma to Douz, this stage, 341 km, was the longest of the rally. The terrain was varied, warming up with dunes and finishing with fast gravel tracks. A cocktail mixed just for the Trophy Truck.

"The beginning wasn´t pleasing at all. After five kilometres the fixings for the anti-roll bars broke and cut through a brake pipe. We had no rear brakes. Luckily for us; the mechanics managed to repair it temporarely at the half-way pit stop, enabling us to continue with three brakes. Three was better than two, more so because the end was fast and full of surprises," explains Eric Vigouroux.

"I was a bit annoyed with the brake problem, but after the repair, the moral just got better and better. Overall, we lost about six to eight minutes butwe´re well placed," concluded the big boss of Pro-System Racing.
