 | Pharaons Rally: Victory for Team Dessoude in T2 Petrol class - Dakar coming.
|
After six incredible legs for rookies, the three Team Dessoude crews reached the Pyramids of Giza and finished this 2011 edition of Pharaons Rally. Best of all, the victory in the T2 Petrol category for Michele Cinotto that did not participate in a rally for over twenty years. Once again, the Team Dessoude Pathfinders accomplished their mission.
The Cinotto family joined Cairo, end of the rally, after many adventures throughout the week. The event started badly after the two sons, Pietro and Carlo, rolled over in the early stages. The explaination of these problems was the total lack of experience in the discipline.
But day after day, the three crews improved time and positions. Finally, Michele Cinotto was the most consistent and ranks 12th overall, 1st in the T2 Petrol category ahead his son Pietro, 13th, while Carlo finished 15th.
For André Dessoude, rally raid is a story of learning and experience to fully appreciate this event, in that case they were missing. Team Dessoude has completed its goal of bringing the three cars in Cairo, thanks to the tenacity and dedication of the mechanics who every night have hardly worked.
For Team Dessoude, the next major step will be, of course, the Dakar race with new weapons, including a MPR13 Lancer, latest évolution, where will be located a Nissan 3.7l engine (a car in accordance with 2012 regulation). With some changes on the body shape, the objective of the Team is to finish in the top 10 and ideally in the Top 5. All this will also depend on the BMW armada. The Proto N05 will be driven by Chinese Zhou Jihong, while Frédéric Chavigny will have a new car, based on a Pickup. Finally, buggies Oryx, Petrol and diesel will also be present in South America.
