Portuguese CC: Race diary of Bernardo Moniz da Maia – Part 1.

It is always interesting to learn about how do those guys in the cockpit see the rallies from the inside. This weekend we have the honour to publish the diary of Bernardo Moniz da Maia, team mate of reigning Portuguese Champion Filipe Campos (X-Raid BMW X3 CC) from the TT Terras de Raia, seventh and penultimate round of the Portuguese Championship in Castelo Branco, Portugal.

”After our very well succeeded campaign on the Baja Tierras d'El Cid, we are back to work at another Portuguese Championship event. Our most recent results, especially the victory in Beja and 1st and 2nd places in Burgos (Spain), give us an extra confidence, although we are aware that the rally is not going to be easy.

Most of all we will do our best. The team has been working very hard and with great results, so we only have reasons to be confident. Results similar to the ones we got in Monchique or even in Beja leave us very pleased. The battle for the championship is very exciting and we are also paying attention to Filipe Campos who is strongly involved in that that fight for the title.

The event held in Castelo Branco has extra point that we have to pay attention to, especially stages with lots of trees and also the traps on the track. On such a short rally, any mistake will have a huge price to pay in terms of final results.”
