Rali Transiberico: Shorter stages - but now with Trucks Category.

Three months to go for the next "Rali Transibérico Vodafone", which will be held from June 17th to 21st in Portugal. Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) had already defined the major line guides for the race counting for the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup, Portuguese Championship and Iberia Cross Country Trophy.

The 2009’s event will present some important changes: Four days of competition! Adapting the event to the international situation demands, ACP decided to shorten the event of one day, but still leaving four days of intense competition, with a minimum of 400 kilometres of stages every day (4 Legs).

Trucks allowed: With the aim of upgrading the event’s competitive standards, the 2009’s edition of the Rali Transibérico Vodafone will be open to trucks, a special attention having been paid to the itinerary in order to keep the safety of the T4 competitors, that will be only facing the first special stage of each leg.

Keeping the traditional leg in Spain and the most usual selective areas in Portugal, Rali Transibérico Vodafone 2009 will bring to Portugal the most important names of the international cross country for another interesting fight again the best Portuguese drivers.

A strong media and TV Coverage of the event are expected. ACP established an agreement with Eurosport, this means a strong coverage of 24 hours on Eurosport, plus the usual National Television Broadcasts (around 15 hours).
