 | Rally Lite Desert Series: Italian Edo Mossi to present new Bike rally series.

Rally Organizer and rider, Edo Mossi from Italy, presents a new way of doing Rally Raid racing in Africa and not only. "We are delighted to present the "Rally Lite Desert Series 2012", a championship on 3 rounds that has met riders’ and teams’ approval" reported Mossi. "The rally series has been studied to allow amateur and professional riders to be the protagonists of this unique and fascinating sport."
"After the success of the first two editions of the Merzouga Rally; given the number of enrolled riders and nations represented, we have decided to take up a new challenge making the 3rd edition even bigger in terms of participants and vehicles. The new project aims to make the African desert closer to the off road riders" Mossi said.
"To meet their needs, this year we have created also the Rally Lite Desert Series, a championship of 3 rounds, which links the splendid green hills of Tuscany, Italy to the big dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert in Morocco via fascinating Marrakech. For next year we are aiming to organize around 4-5 races of 3-4 days each every 2 months to guarantee a continuity of t_his unique sport and visibility to the sponsor throughout the season" reported Edo Mossi
Sunday 22nd of April: openening race of the RLDS at Radicofani, Montepulciano in the heart of the Tuscun countryside. Out of the 200 participants, 25 will be the riders enrolled in the RLSD. In particular the French Loic Minaudier and Thomas Bourgin, with an Enduro background in France, will challenge the most experienced Italian riders.
A Castrol hospitality as well as a Castrol Welcome Kit will be available for all the RLDS participans. On Saturday all RLDS riders are invited to dinner, a friendly way to start this new challenge together.
Logistics: The Headquarters of the race will be a hotel in the center of the Hivernage section of Marrakech, just a short walk from downtown and the attractions of the ‘medina’.
Promotional Opportunities: The X Rally Marrakech proposes a new formula designed especially for riders and teams who need to demonstrate their potential to sponsors. To achieve this, we decided to set up VIP areas at all departure and arrival points, and to host activities before, during and after the race that will have promotional potential for all participants, the real stars of "X RALLY".
