|RIP: Ukrainian Vadim Nesterchuk died during training session in the UAE.|
As the Ukrainian agency ITAR-TASS reported, the Ukrainian rallydriver Vadim Nesterchuk (42, Mitsubishi T1 / Toyota T2 Sixt Ukraine Team) has died by dehydration in the United Arab Emirates during a training session in the desert.
As the agency and different media told, his vehicle stuck in very soft sand in the dunes of the Rub al-Khali desert. The racer and his assistant failed to recover the vehicle.
Nesterchuk´s training partner - a local resident - left Vadim next to the car and secured the GPS position to reach the next Highway to get help. Later when he got back with a rescue-team, they found him dead and dehydrated next to his car. As the magazine "Championat" reported, the rescue-team was late for only 30 minutes.
The Rub al-Khali desert in the UAE is one of the hottest, dryest and most dangerous places in the world. The daily temperatures can reach between 40-50 degrees. Vadim Nesterchuk was experienced in this desert and training especially for the "Silk Way Rally".
Vadim Nesterchuk was the founder and pilot of the "Sixt Ukraine Team" and has performed in rally-raid since 2007. Since 2009 he was competing in the Dakar Rally, 2013 was the sixth Dakar in his sports career.
"On his company's brand T-shirt was written: ´We never stop!´, but the Russian counterpart ´Never give up! ´more accurately reflects his life positions" a Ukrainian friend said. He was married and father of two children, a young boy and a studying girl.
