Romanian Baja: Balázs Szalay the best Hungarian.

The Balázs Szalay - Dénes Tóth - Opel Frontera trio got a bit of ahead of the opponents on the first day of the Romanian Baja. Organizers assigned only two short stages for Friday, and although the super-special won't be decisive in respect to final results, still, by prestige all the competitors were trying hard.
Good news for the Szalay Dakar Team that his duo was the fastest on both stages from among Hungarians, not to mention their 22 second improvement. This was because the special assigned at the shooting-range was full of bumps and narrow back-turns, at one of which the pilot (having completed Dakar 4 times already) had to back up in the first round.
"True competition is about to start just tomorrow, but not bad for a warm-up! - said Szalay. - I don't feel us having started out with full speed, rather driving at a normal and lively tempo. We would be absolutely satisfied with the same in the next two days. We had no trouble with the Opel, guys at the set changed the worn-out snapper, but that was all."
On Saturday the field will complete 5 special stages on tracks nearby Nagybánya.
