The motorbikes and the team where ready for the ultimate test in Tunisia. The drivers and materials where tested with positive results. The motorbikes where adjusted to the specific needs per driver to start well prepared in Argentina. But before, Team Honda Europe was present at Valkenswaard in Holland.
There, the annual pre-prologue (Pre-Dakar) drew a large group of spectators. It was crowded in the paddock of Team Honda Europe where all the people listened to the Dakar perceptions of Mirjam Pol. She was also active on the motorbike. In the middle of all the male drivers she drove to the top. After winning two heats, she got to the finals where she finished third on the Honda CRF 250 X, which is the lighter version of the 450 Dakar X.
"Our new motorbike, with the new developed kit is easier to handle and drives like an enduro motorbike. It is six kilograms lighter! After a long day on your bike when you have been stuck for twenty times or fallen of your bike you have 120 kilograms less to lift and dig at the end of the day than the year before" said the Dutch Pol.
