 | SA-Dakar 2012: Peruvian Sports Institute will have Dakar Rally in 2012.

As the Peruvian news-magazine [ www.andina.com.pe ] reported, the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) president Arturo Woodman announced he is making arrangements so that Peru can be included in the 2012 Dakar Rally route and can host the final stage in Lima.
"We’ve been working for some years so that Dakar Rally includes part of the Peruvian territory. Organizers are interested in including Peru in the route, the only thing that is left is to make the respective payment" Woodman told the Andina News Agency.
Woodman also underlined the importance of such an event in Peru, which would benefit tourist activities and commerce the due to the heightened arrival of tourists.
