 | | | The Russian Vladimir Chagin has won the first stage of the Dakar 2011, He completed the first special stage in 1:45 hours. He was closely followed by Ales Loprais (Tatra) with a diference of 4.19 minutes.
Kabirov came in 3rd place followed by Nikolaev. We also are sadened to comunicate the withdraw of Gerard De Rooy, He suffered a back injury at a jump in Km72 in which he required medical asistance. This is a big loss to the race as he is a formidable adversary.
Also the Dutch Wuf van Ginkel (Ginaf) and Hans Bekx (DAF) are out of the race. Both crashed their trucks during the Liaison. Van Ginkel had a flat tire on a highway and rolled his Ginaf, Hans Bekx also crashed his DAF, but we don´t have details now.
