 | SA-Dakar Rally: Alain Duclos - "A beautiful stage with all kinds of grounds".
|

 | | | Thursday morning, the Dakar left Chile, only a few kilometers from Arica and entered Peru, where the scene changes completely. And for today, it was the marathon stage for bikes, the first part of it, without assistance. Mechanics and cars are at the cars and trucks bivouacs in Arequipa, while bikes are 150 kilometers away in front of the ocean, where they will start tomorrow to Nasca.
Aprilia-rider Alain Duclos had a regular stage, with no particular problem, except for a fall in a river. At the finish line of the stage, Duclos signed the 19th best time.
"It was a beautiful stage, varied with all kinds of grounds" the French told after the stage. "I had fun, mostly in the tracks, where my Aprilia was performing great. I have to push harder in the off road sections that require more engine power. I had just a small problem while getting out of a river, where many other riders had several problems."
