 | SA-Dakar Rally: Barreda - "They are the ones who´ve to run and play victory".
|

 | | | Friday's special was outlined at its inception about 50 km due to rains in recent days. The Spanish Husqvarna biker Barreda started from 5th position and starting from less to more in particular that, without many competitive kilometers, has been a lot of wear for the riders and their bikes.
In the first bullet passed through the Spanish in the 13th position, but as the miles passed was positioned in the top of the standings and lack of 80 km was in second with a handicap of 7 seconds with the leader of the stage, Marc Coma. Barreda tried to pull strong, but lacking the 30 km route book he got stuck and had to contrive to continue in the dunes where the navigation was essential, reaching Nasca in a sensational second place.
"The stage was short but tough" reported the Spaniard. "The last 30 km, when I was squeezing it has blocked the road book and had to pass it manually. It was a few miles from a lot of navigation, sand was very soft and so complicated to go fast. At one point I had a snag in the sand, but the end result has been positive."
About the last days of the Dakar he said: "I will not meddle in the struggle that Coma and Despres. They are the ones who have to run and play victory. I will go forth to navigate and make my career with the pace I've been getting. Sand dunes, soft sand landscapes that resemble but are divergent at the same time so that the navigation will be important. This is what I am expected to survivors of Dakar on stage will be played between Nazca and Pisco of 375 km."
