 | SA-Dakar Rally: Ginaf´s Wuf van Ginkel unhappy, "Rally Service" to start?.
|
The Dakar Rally 2012 is not the best for the Dutch leading Ginaf crews "Ginaf Rally Power" and "Ginaf Rally Service". First the "Ginaf Company" ran out of money in their homecountry Holland, then the trucks will not run best as they could - and now the truck of "Ginaf Rally Service" eventually is not allowed to start in Thursday´s 5th stage.
First to Wuf van Ginkel and the "Rally Power" work-truck. All the years leading, now back on position 47 (+09:14:22, 3 hours penalty) in the overall rankings - and the best ranked Ginaf is the Team Smink/Nieuwenburg/Stijkel on 21 (+03:07:46). On Monday Van Ginkel finished 17th in the stage (+29:54).
"The delay and the ranking made me a bit disappointed" Wuf van Ginkel said after the stage. "I thought we had a good ride, no stops, no technical problems. But we have had many problems with the dust of the other participants. I´m looking forward now. On thursday the distance is not big, but it can still be a tough day."
The crew of the "Ginaf Rally Service", Gerard van Veenendaal, Jan van de Bor and Sven Vogelaar, eventually is out of the race. After they helped the "Ginaf Rally Power" crew after problems in SS03 on monday night, the crew was late at the start of SS04 and got big penalties. Later the organizer wanted the ban the crew - in the overall standings they were not listed.
"That we had not expected," said Wuf van Ginkel after the fourth stage. "It does not matter how much penalty you get. It is important that he can drive in the game. Thursday, they happily start again. We will see."
