 | SA-Dakar Rally TICKER: Despres wins 3:54 front of Coma, 8:28 to Barreda.

For the first bikers, today´s 9th stage from Antofagasta to Iquiqe (566 kms timed, 9 kms liasion) is history. It looks like, that today was the toughest day of the Dakar Rally 2012, after the last stages were "Kindergarden" instead of the old Dakar in Africa. At 12:47 CET the bikes started in today´s stage - the first finished 18:31 CET.
Today, Cyril Despres and Marc Coma showed a great fight all day long. At the end of the day, Frenchmen Cyril Despres made the race in 05:04:33 hours and 3:54 minutes in front of Marc Coma and 8:28 mins to Joan Barreda Bort with the best Husqvarna bike. Helder Rodrigues from Portugal finished 4th (Yamaha, +11:44) in front of Paulo Goncalves on 5 (Husqvarna, +15:12).
In the overall rankings, Despres catched the lead again from Marc Coma, who had 2:28 minutes again. 3rd is Helder Rodrigues (+59:19) in front of Paulo Goncalves (+01:25:57) and Jordi Viladoms (KTM, +01:28:43).
