|SA-Dakar Rally TICKER: Peterhansel wins in cars, Karginov-Kamaz in Trucks.|
Frenchmen Stephane Peterhansel and his codriver Jean-Paul Cottret have wo the 13th stage on Saturday, which brought the participants from Nasca to Pico in Peru. He needed 03:09:47 hours, 8:29 minutes less then De Villiers / Von Zitzewitz in the Imperial Toyota Hilux and 12:55 mins to Leonid Novitskiy and Andy Schulz in the second best X-raid Mini.
4th is the Chinese Great Wall car of Carlos Sousa and Jean-Pierre Garcin, they needed 13:39 minutes more the Peterhansel. Behind them, Lucio Alvarez and Bernardo Rolando fulfiled the Top 5 for Toyota and placed their Hilux with 14:57 minutes. Robby Gordon lost some time by rolling his Hummer, he finished 10th with a gap of 36:01 minutes.
Peterhansel also strengthen his overall lead with 42:57 minutes to Nani Roma and Michel Perin, De Villiers follows 3rd with +01:15:09 hours, Novitskiy/Schulz 4th with +02:12:56 and Gordon/Campbell 4th with +02:20:05 hours.
In the trucks, the Russian crew of Karginov/Devyatkin/Mokeev won the stage with 03:33:27 hours, 20:14 minutes before - surprise - the Tatra of the Brasilian André de Azevedo and 22:09 minutes to the best Iveco of Hans Stacey. In the overall standings, Gerard de Rooy and Hans Stacey are still leading with their Iveco, followed by Arthur Ardavichus in his private Kamaz.
