The young Spaniard Joan Barreda Bort (Husqvarna Speedbrain) has confirmed the fine impression he has made since the start by winning the wednesday's 10th special with a time of 04:18:43 hours. He beat his countryman Marc Coma (KTM) by 1:32 minutes and Frenchman Cyril Despres (KTM) by 3:39 mins. 4th became the Portuguese Helder Rodrigues (Yamaha, +5:16) before Jordi Viladoms (KTM, +8:48).
In the overall standings, Cyril Despres is still the leader (33:07:39), but now only 21 seconds in front of Marc Coma, +45:56 to Helder Rodrigues (Yamaha), 01:18:52 to Jordi Viladoms (KTM) and +01:24:38 to the Slovakian Stefan Svitko. As reported, yesterday some KTM and Husqvarna teams changed the engine and got a penalty of 15 minutes.
In the quads, Tomas Maffei managed to surf the dunes and tame the fesh-fesh quicker than the Patronelli brothers today. He finished 12:56 minutes ahead of Marcos Patronelli and 13:26 in front of Alejandro Patronelli.
