 | SA-Dakar TICKER: Deadly accident on stage 10 Copiapo - Chilecito.

At 6:10 local time in the morning, a road accident occurred involving a Argentinian competitor and a driver, 30 kilometers after the finish of the special Stage, at the entry of the village of Tinogasta while the competitor was on his way to the bivouac of Chilecito.
Immediately informed by the competitor, the race headquarters sent on site a medical vehicle as well as a helicopter to treat the injured driver and informed the local medical staff. The patient was taken to the Tinogasta hospital where he sadly died.
The justice of the Catamarca Province opened an enquiry in order to establish the circumstances of the accident.
