Score Laughin Desert Challenge 2006 with Iritrack tracking.

The Iritrack real-time satellite tracking system first appeared on the American continent during the famous Tecate "Score" Baja 500 in June 2005. What was a demo then is now the first step that Iritrack US, Mexico and Tahiti distributor International Racing Consultants takes in order to make this incredibly efficient device a must-have in one of off-road’s major series. The promotional impact of Iritrack goes along with the improvement of competitor safety.

With the authorization of "Score" president and CEO Sal Fish, International Racing Consultants (IRC) introduces the units and services related to the Iritrack real-time satellite tracking system at the first race of the 2006 series, the "Score" Laughlin Desert Challenge (January 12th-15th). "Score"’s season opener will see five competitors using the Iritrack and all off-road enthusiasts in the world will be able to follow their progression around the 8 mile course from a computer with an Internet connection via Google Earth.

More-over, when typing www.dakar.com, visitors can access the real-time satellite tracking of the world’s toughest off-road race, the Dakar in Africa. Visitors will be able to follow the one "Score" car still in this year’s Dakar, Eric Vigouroux’s Arizona prepped Chevy Trophy Truck, and of course 2004 Tecate "Score" Baja 1000 winner Mark Miller in his factory Volkswagen Race Touareg 2. Iritrack has been in use, then mandated by all the FIA and FIM Cross Country Rally organizers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East for two years. It has been responsible for a considerable improvement of the safety of the racers, support crews and organization staff members of these rallies, including the legendary Dakar.
