Qatar’s Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah confirmed at the pre-event press conference for the "Qatar International Rally" that he will take part in three FIA World Cup events to prepare himself for a three-car assault at the 2014 Dakar Rally.
"It was a great start for us with the new car this time," said the Qatari. "To be just three minutes behind Peterhansel at the rest day was a superb achievement. We will come back better and stronger. We will take part in the Desert Challenge (ADDC) in March and that will be an important test for us.
Then we will come here to the Sealine Rally (SCCR) in April and then I hope we can go to Egypt to finish the testing."
Al-Attiyah is chasing his 46th MERC victory this weekend in an Autotek Motorsport-run Ford Fiesta RRC.
