Spaniard Marc Coma secured top place in the second stage of the Sertões International Rally, departing from Caldas Novas (GO) headed to Unaí (MG). With 2h30min50, the rider overcame third place at the start and made the best time, just a minute ahead of first runner-up Zé Hélio.
"It was a larger stage, with varied terrain. It was complete for the riders, a mix of trial, fast and slow at the same time. I had no problems with the bike, the route was very tranquil," said Coma upon arrival to Unaí.
Even with the outcome, Coma is first runner-up in the overall results with a total time of 4h14min12. Zé Hélio, second place in stage with 2h31min57, is the category leader, with the difference only 1min59 to the Spanish. "My tuning up with the bike is very good. I had fun the whole day today. The bike is a delight. A few more days and it will get better," said Hélio about the equipment.
The third placer today was Deni do Nascimento, with 2h32min01 in the second day of Rally. And overall, he also ranks third, very close to Ike Klaumann, who made the fifth best time. "I had a problem with fuel, I kicked the back tank fuel hose ten kilometers to the end, and ran out of fuel. I had to tilt the bike to get to the end," said Deni.
Close race - In the second day of Sertões, riders are very close together, both in the stage classification, and in general. Check the placement of the first five riders on the second day, and overall standings after two stages.
