 | Shamrock Rally: The French Morocco Rally has been moved forward a week.
|
To satisfy the requests of the many teams and competitors who would like to carry out on-site tests before the start of the season 2011, the French Rally Organiser NPO has decided to move the "Shamrockj Rally of Morocco" forward by one week.
The technical checks will take place in Zagora on Sunday 17th October 2010. The route (reconnaissance are scheduled in mid-June) will comprise 6 stages of between 200 and 350 kilometres, with a neutralised assistance mid-race.
The arrival will be judged on Saturday the 23rd in Zagora, with a prize giving night ceremony. The technical and sporting rules will be similar to those of the 2011 Marathon Rally-Raids.
As the Shamrock Rally is not part of the FIA World Cup, NPO will provide a clamp revision service for cars and trucks, depending on the type of gearbox and fuel used. For bikes and quads, there is no cc limit and enduro bike will be allowed (extra fuelling every 90km in race time). For all participants, navigation rules will be revised with a later launch of the "waypoints".
After the success of the Raid in Tunisia, NPO has set up an initiation raid and training rally in Morocco. The idea is to drive your vehicle (regular or racing vehicle) without any time constraints on the rally race and enjoy the rally’s security, technical assistance and media cover (to maintain the convivial raid spirit, registration is limited to 2 groups of 12 cars).
