 | Silk Way Rally: Team Dessoude to start with "new Generation" Nissan Juke.
|
After Team Dessoude’s last practice session at Château de Lastours, André Dessoude announced some news about his buggy. Before the start of the Silk Way Rally, team from Saint-Lô presents its "Juke", a new generation buggy, redesigned and improved. New design, new suspension, upgraded engine, the Juke joins the big league...
After a relevant work on his Oryx buggy, Team Dessoude reveals today the Juke. Positioned on the market of new generation buggies, Juke proves its efficiency and its performances on all kind of terrain of rally raids.
As André Dessoude said, this evolution is not limited to a facelift. "Of course, the body is 100% new. It comes from a production model, the Nissan Juke, which gives it a very special shape. But it is especially in the mechanical field we operated major changes. On the suspensions, the work done by Reiger brings big improvements, and for the braking, progress is substantial."
These good feelings are confirmed by Thierry Magnaldi who participated in the Juke’s development since last Dakar. "After the Dakar, we had a constructive debriefing on different areas to define the best improvements on the Oryx. Today, I am pleased that all these thoughts have found expression in the right direction with the launch of the Juke, a real race car."
He added: "Regarding the suspensions, from the first laps, reactions were very positive. Roll was greatly reduced and the sensations are very pleasant. The brakes and engine were also revisited and the cooling system achieves a good balance of temperatures. A 100% positive feeling, thanks to the collaboration of the team with Jean-Marc Schmit, brilliant engineer that needs no introduction."
_This evolution should allow us to be positioned on the top of classifications. But as nothing can replace the experience of a race, the Silk Way will be a good test. It's a rally I know. It takes some tracks of the former "Master Rally" that I won twice on bike."
"My co-driver will be Jean-Paul Forthomme as François (Borsotto) will be unavailable. I know Jean Paul very well as he entered his first rally with me! Bringing the Juke in the top 10 of the Silk Way is not utopian, I am convinced that we can fight with the best two-wheel drive cars."
