 | Slovak Raid Adventure Nissan Team finished 2010 season with four titles.
|
In the year 2010 the Raid Adventure Team from Slovakia returned to racing with brand new vehicle. Faithful to Nissan they prepared a Navara Double Cab D40 pickup in their workshop. This vehicle was built in accordance to FIA T2 class rules, which means only minor, mainly safely changes were allowed.
The first race for a new car was adventure rally Budapest - Bamako in January. After previous three wins the fifth participation ended with an injury of Juraj Ulrich. Thanks to trouble free recovery a plan to enter this year’s FIA Central European Zone Trophy was not endangered. II. Rábaköz Kupa was the first Hungarian contribution to this season’s schedule. The crew of Juraj Ulrich and Daniela Ulrichová turned the start into a victory in T2 class.
During the year they won four out of six races. They lost a clear lead in Poland on Baja Carpathia due to a very curios problem - price label in a fuel tank caused fuel outage several times. But they repay a loss to their defeater Aleksander Sachanbinski on the very next race in Hungary. Prohun 500 was the longest and the hottest race of the season.
CCR Príbram in Czech Republic was counted towards four international championships; that of Czech Republic and Poland, Cup of Slovak Republic and FIA CEZ Trophy. Ulrich’s faced another family crew here. The Wieclawek brothers were a tough rival but lost this time. "Wieclawek is fast and experienced driver, we must not rule him out in the future," stressed Juraj Ulrich. By this win Slovak crew took a lead in all four championships.
A return to Poland was victorious for Ulrich’s. Points they acquired on Baja Poland allowed them to strengthen their T2 class lead in all championships. An advantage they got by the time started to be critical for their rivals. After forced cancellation of 8th Baja Slovakia, which Raid Adventure Team organized, they headed back to Czech Republic.
Just before the start of 8th Rally Vsetín it was clear that the last races of FIA CEZ and Polish championship would not take place at all. That made Ulrich’s premature season winners. With four international trophies in the pocket they let Wieclawek win in Vsetín.
A 2010 season ended with great achievement for Juraj and Daniela Ulrich’s. The preparation is now focused to a fourth win on Budapest - Bamako. The sixth edition of charity adventure rally starts on January 15. in Budapest and ends after completing almost 8.500 kilometers in Bamako, Mali.
