|TORC 2014: Flying Dutchman Mike Vanden Heuvel prepares for Crandon Brush|
The Flying Dutchman Off-Road team will be back on the track next weekend at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. Mike Vanden Heuvel will once again pilot the family's familiar red Maxxis Tire equipped TORC PRO-2WD as the team marks its thirty-sixth year of racing at the "Big House."
The Flying Dutchman PRO-2WD #77 is recognized as one of the crowd favorites as Mike's all-out attitude always makes the team a serious podium contender. This year a third generation family member, eight year old Carter Vanden Heuvel, will represent the team as well in his Short Course Kart. Carter and 'Uncle Mike' will sport completely matching race trucks, right down to the team's signature wings.
Mikey Vanden Heuvel quote: "With our family's history at Crandon, it was really important to me and to the team that we raced both weekends this year. We're fortunate to have been involved with the track for so long and we want to continue to be a part of the great tradition here. When racing is done, it's also about friends and family. That is what makes Crandon so incredible."
