Transiberico Rali: Prestigious Result for Nissan Tecnosport.

It ended with a great result for the Italian based Team Nissan Tecnosport at the third and last stage of the Fia World Cup for Cross Country Rallies which tooks place in Portugal from June 17 to 21. The crew Oliveira/Palmeiro, on Pathfinder 4.0 V6 T1, has won the second place at the "Transiberico Rali" behind the BMW X3 CC of French driver Chicherit.

The young pilot of Barcelos, from last year with colour of Italian Nissan Team, was the author of a perfect race that allowed him to arrive second in the general classification of the FIA round and first absolute of Portuguese drivers. A great success for Oliveira, for the fourth time in the top five of Transiberico, improving the good place obtained last year already with Tecnosport.

"A technical race who needed great attention in driving and navigation also because of the prestigious pilots parterre with five BMW and two Mitsubishi official cars beyond the Lancer driven by the great Carlos Sousa" explains Helder Oliveira. "We tried to drive our best rally even if we known that it’s very difficult to compete with a team like the BMW one but determined to conquer a good final position. I am really excited about the result because the Transiberico is the most important European leg of the FIA World Cup and also because the home race in Portugal has a special meaning for me. A great thanks to Team Tecnosport for the professional assistance during the race, to my co pilot for the excellent work done near me and to the Pathfinder Nissan that, once again, has been performing".

With the silver medal won in Portugal with Tecnosport and the victory in Tunisian rally (near Argentine driver Terranova), Filipe Palmeiro finished the 2009 World Cup winning second place of co pilots. "We are satisfied for the result obtained by Oliveira in the Portuguese race" explained Daniel Canonico and Maurizio Traglio, sports director and team manager of Tecnosport.

"The development of Nissan T1 is finishing thanks to the tests done by the best technicians of off road: some more improvements and the Pathfinder will be competitive near official cars". The next race for the Team Tecnosport is from July 23-26 with the Baja Espana Aragon, one of the leg of the International Cup for Cross Country Bajas. More info on [ ].
