Transiberico Rali: Two X-Raid BMW still in the lead before Racing Lancer.

Taking all the advantage to drive the first car on the road, totally free of dust – the biggest enemy for the other competitors – Filipe Campos (BMW X3 CC) increased his lead in more than one minute in spite of loosing sometime when he made a mistake, leaving for a while the official itinerary. The Portuguese champion leads with an advantage of 4m 32s to Guerlain Chicherit (BMW X3 CC) and 8m 35s to Carlos Sousa I Mitsubishi Racing Lancer I the other podium drivers for the moment.

The third special stage of Rali Vodafone Transibérico was held on Spanish gravel roads near Valverde del Fresno without any wind that could take away the tremendous dust that laid in the air after the competitors went through.

Carlos Sousa (Mitsubishi Racing Lancer) was third fastest in the stage, after overtaking Nicolas Misslin (Mitsubishi Pajero MRP 13). The Marseille driver stopped in the stage in order to make the things easier for the Portuguese driver.

More and more used to his new car and applauded by his compatriots, Nani Roma started the day with a big attack, after his Thursday retirement due to an engine sensor. But the Spanish was not happy and a puncture cost him an extra 5 minutes on the stage.

The morning stage caused Ricardo Leal dos Santos’ retirement (BMW X5), with turbo problems, and Russian Boris Gadasin (Proto G-Force) ended the stage with big physical troubles, due to the high temperatures. Pedro Silva Nunes (Mitsubishi Pajero) keeps Group T2 lead and Jorge Coutinho (Mitsubshi Pajero) has a 37 second advantage in T8 category.
