The 112-km-long final special stage in Russia was again fought over on a slippery, slimy route. Unfortunately, the Pro-System Racing Trophy Truck set off in last place and found itself held up behind struggling competitors on more than one occasion, which no doubt kept it from putting in a shining performance.
"We spent our time in the special stage helping competitors stuck in the quagmire. Our last stop was unfortunately the result of a serious injury to Chinese driver Xu Lang when a tow cable snapped. It´s a big shame, because this special stage was tailor-made for us, the Toyo Tires were offering perfect drive in the mud, and we didn´t have any trouble wherever we went, unlike some of the other two-wheel drives", remarked Eric.
"I hope now that we can manage to pull out of this awful downward spiral. We’re heading into the two-day marathon stage in the hope that our luck is finally turning.", he concluded. The press, like the support lorries, are not allowed in the bivouac at Arkalik, located halfway along this two-day marathon stage, so the next bulletin will be on Thursday morning...
