Transorientale: Eric Vigouroux after the Technical Scrutineering

| |
| After completing administrative and technical checks without any problem, the Chevrolet Trophy Truck of Pro-System Racing is ready to start the first stage of the "Saint Petersburg-Astana-Beijing" Transoriental on Thursday 12 June. "I did not have much time to adapt to twelve hours of time difference and climate change between California and Russia," explains Eric Vigouroux. "And as the weather was somewhat gloomy during the first day of inspections, my moral was quite low. But as we are one of favourites for the event, the reception by the press and other competitors comforted us quickly."
Two days before departure, Toyo Tires had organised a press conference in the honour of Pro-System Racing team and the questions asked by several journalists as well as interviews with TV teams confirmed this status of favourite. "Of course, it puts a certain pressure on us, more so as with the no. 200, ours will be the first vehicle to start in the inaugural special. I hope that there will not be any "mire" type paths where we might remain blocked. Given our tactics - being very consistent and leaving Russia in good position with a "fresh" vehicle - one must not expect feats during the first few stages."
As far as Chevrolet Trophy Truck is concerned, the Pro-System Racing team has brought in a small technical modification in view of very long road links: "We have installed two removable half windshields in order to cut a bit of wind for us and avoid mosquitoes. It will help us drive without helmets during long hours of link, and even listen to a bit of music with our I-Pods." It is true that the route towards Beijing is still very long."
