Transorientale: German Team Kahle/Schuenemann with dutch Buggy.

A German team (Matthias Kahle, the driver and Dr. Thomas M. Schuenemann, the co-driver) joint the 2008 Transorientale as a very strong contender. They normally both contest the German Rally championship and now they’ve decided to switch from a Porsche 911 GT3 to a dutch Fast&Speed Buggy (Honda engine). Both participated also in the UAE Desert Challenge, Rally D´Orient and the former Dakar-Rallies.
Matthias Kahle: "When we heard that the "Dakar" was cancelled, we entered, without any hesitation, the 2008 Transorientale. The 2008 Transorientale is the real aim of Rally Raid marathon. More than 10’000 km, three countries (Russia, Kazakhstan and China) that I did not know yet. We wanted to live a bigger adventure. That’s what we like with René Metge"
Thomas Schuenemann: "In 2007, we entered the Morocco Rally to learn and to get the best set-up within sand conditions, dunes etc. What we know from 2008 Transorientale is China stages are made of sand dunes and only sand dunes. For us, it will be a great advantage".
