|

 | | | Rod Hall Racing clinched the Full Metal Class win at the VORRA Night Vision 250 off-road race in Fallon, Nevada (USA) this weekend. Off-road racing legend Rod Hall teamed up with granddaughter Shelby Hall for her debut as a driver. The team had a flawless race in the stock Hummer H3.
The course was a different format, starting at 6 p.m. and running six, forty-two mile laps during and after sunset. The course had several technical sections, but was generally fast. The race favored the tough, proven truck and the team experienced no mechanical set backs or flats.
Shelby Hall, daughter of off-road racer, Josh Hall, left the line and completed two laps with co-driver Steve Rudd. Rod Hall and co-driver Tom Heyl took over for two laps before Shelby assumed driving duties again for the final two laps. After a solid year in the co-rider seat in 2011, the young Hall proved herself as capable pilot, running a strong pace and keeping out of danger.
"The VORRA Series is a great testing ground for our team and truck as we prepare for the 45th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000," noted Rod. He will enter the November race as the only man to compete in every Baja 1000 since the race’s inception.
