 | XRally Marrakech: Darryl Curtis wins with Thomas Bourgin and G. Ciarpaglini.

The Agafay, the "Desert of Marrakech", was the theatre of the 4th and final day of the "XRally Marrakech 2012". The riders covered 191,53 km in the last stage of the total 620,70 km, through mountains tracks and spectacular river crossing and oued. Today’s two special stages were very fast and navigated.
The French Pascal Delesque on a quad won the first special stage in front of SA Darryl Curtis and the Italian Glauco Ciarpaglini, while French Loic Minaudier was the winner of the second special stage , in front of the Italian Mirko Pavan and the SA Riaan Van Niekerk.
SA Darryl Curtis wins the first edition of the XRally, with him on the podium Thomas Bourgin and Glauco Ciarpaglini. All the three riders are among the very top riders of South Africa, France and Italy. They were at the XRally to race but also to train in preparation of the Dakar.
Darryl Curtis: "I had a great day and it was good gun. In the first stage I passed everybody, while in the second one I decided to privilege the navigation. After 4 days of training, today I was comfortable with the road book. I enjoyed the stages, it was fun to ride in the river beds and the landscape was similar to what we have in SA. My target here was to train and support my team mate Riaan, who comes from the enduro and is learning the navigation. we will race together in the Dakar 2013."
Thomas Bourgin: "It was a very nice experience and finishing second was a great satisfaction. I learned a lot to navigate. I decided to race with a rally bike to train also for bigger marathon rallys. I will be at the Merzouga rally and, if I find the budget, at the Dakar."
Glauco Ciarpaglini: "After 3 positive days, today I broke the rear brake and I lost a lot of time. Despite all this, 3rd position is a good result for me, but I expected to do better. Anyway I’m still the first in the Rally Lite Desert Series, the series organized by of Edo Mossi."
Organizer Edo Mossi thanked all the riders who took part in the first edition of XRally Marrakech and looks forward to see all of them in the Merzouga Rally from 3rd to 9th of November 2012.
